Lifting
The combination of our expertise we’ve obtained through our 45 years in the building moving business and our sophisticated Unified Jacking System makes us leaders in our field. Our incredible track record of customer satisfaction and jobs well done are results of the crew’s hard work and dedication to surpassing the client’s expectations.
How we do it:
Since every building is constructed differently, CDS starts off by performing a thorough assessment its structural situation. Once the assessment is completed, a plan is developed assuring the structure will be supported adequately.
Most residential projects begin with the installation of specially fabricated structural steel beams underneath the building’s floor joist. The beam allows for each and every joist to be supported so that the building’s weight is evenly spread. Doing so drastically minimises the impact lifting has on the structure. These beams are then supported by wood peers built from strong 5 foot 6” by 8” pressure treated wood. Jacks are then placed inside the peers positioned underneath the steel beam to allow the Unified Jacking Process to start. The building is eased up 14” at a time until the client’s desired height is reached. The building is ultimately lowered onto its new foundation allowing for our equipment to be removed. And the job is done!
It is also important to note that we offer services to repair, replace or add structural beams as needed.
